Legal Protection for Trademark and Utility Model in Eurasia
The Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) is considering introducing a regional Unified Eurasian Trademark and a regional Utility Model for Eurasia, so as to boost exports and economic integration and cooperation within the Eurasian region. This was announced on 26 of June 2024 at a session of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum by Grigory Ivliev, President of the EAPO.
Eurasian Patent Organization's 2023 Annual Report
The Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) issued an Annual Report highlighting a year of growth and progress despite economic challenges.
The figures for 2023 are eloquent: 3,689 received applications and a 7% growth in valid patents, 3,787 granted patents, with a 50% increase in patents granted to applicants from Eurasian Patent Convention (EAPC) Contracting States. The Eurasian Industrial Design System saw a 58% increase in applications, expanding to 26 states.
